4th Annual Estate Planning Tab

An estate planning tab included in the Sunday edition of the Joplin Globe. Local professionals submit articles concerning estate planning that includes charitable gift planning tools. The tab is sponsored by the Southwest Missouri Estate Planning Council.
2nd Annual Tools of the Trade Series Seminar

The 2nd Annual Tools of the Trade Series Seminar will be presented this year on the campus of Pittsburg State Universtiy at the Overman Student Center on June 8, 2010. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $25 for Planned Giving Council of the Four State members and $50 for non members. From 9:00 -10:15 a.m. our first breakout session will be Ethical Considerations in Life Insurance presented by John Riggs, Vice President-Sales, Highland Captial Brokerage, Kirkwood, Missouri and Planned Giving for Non Profits presented by Chris Miller and Mark Loeber, The Advancement Group, Tulsa, OK. From 10:30-11:45 a.m. breakout sessions will include Better Communities Through Planned Giving presented by Brian Fogle, Executive Vice President, Community Foundation of the Ozarks, Springfield, Missouri and The Role of Professionals in Philanthropy/Ethics in Giving presented by Chris Dumm, JD., Joplin, Missouri. From 12:00-12:50 p.m. lunch will be sponsored by UMB Bank and will include a panel discussion with the presenters. From 1:00 -2:15 p.m. breakout sessions will include It's Not All Broilerplate presented by Clint Patterson, JD and Kevin Conley, JD, UMB Bank Asset Management, Kansas City and Fundraising in Tough Times presented by Brian Bisbee, Executive Director Carthage Crisis Center, Carthage, Missouri. At 2:30 p.m. our final breakout sessions will be Special Needs Trust/Charitable Remainder Trust, presented by Chris Dumm, JD, Joplin, Missouri and Mining For Gold, presented by Jan Kuak, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. 7 CE credits (pending) will be available for the professional advisors attending.
